When the reader uses music as a background for oral reading the words flow from the page with expression & feeling. It is a way to get beyond the mere words of a passage to the images & emotions that underlie the selection. Concert reading well done, is as its name implies, a performance. It becomes an enjoyable experience when the reader blends his or her voice with the author's words & the music.
