Colorful family saga set on the seacost of North Yorkshire, England, in the village of Ravenswyke. It opens in 1916 as World War I is being waged on the continent and spans the years until World War II. At home, the influences and changes brought about by technology and changing economic and social conditions are making inroads on a traditional way of life in this British fishing village. The lure of the sea and the inspiration of a strong family ethic are important themes in this highly readable story.

Hardback book, enjoyable read especially if you enjoy reading about English village life, as it used to be.
