I'm reading this series in case I want to pass it along to family but I really can't give it high praise, don't want to rate it with only 1 or 2 stars so will give it 3 just because it is for YA readers and they would probably like it
This one takes over where the first one left off-which is kind of irritating since you might have to go back and refresh your memory of the first book
This is suppose to be about the oldest son being on trial for murder, which it is-in a way-, there is so much other 'junk' in the book that doesn't have anything to do with the trial then lo and behold Tandy solves the murder! I almost had to laugh at the way this was written, it isn't a mystery but just a story about Tandy all the way through and her problems
The title 'private school murders' is kind of misleading because the book barely scrapes the surface on these and then again-lo and behold Tandy solves this one too!
So I won't be passing it along to family, even though it definitely is for a YA, to me it was just kind of silly

I read this book out of order so I relied on the flashbacks to set the characters. In my opinion the flashbacks were overdone. Patterson/Paetro could have easily done one flashback and moved on. The multiple plots were weak with no clear motive for the multiple killings, the missing boyfriend plot went nowhere (maybe saving it for a continuing plot line in future books) the plot of the older brother's murder trial was beyond weak, it was pathetic. I can cross off this series of Patterson books that I will not read in the future. May be good enough for young teens to read but not a serious adult book
