One of my all-time favorite books! A great Oprah pick! This book made me laugh and cry and while teaching me about Africa. I loved the way she introduced the American missionary's family and let us see the village people through their eyes. And then at the end--we finally get to see how this family was viewed by the village. Deeply insightful and unforgettable! Course--I could totally relate to the daughters as my father was a minister. Very realistic, touching. Makes you rethink how we live in America.
