Emilie Richards returns to the story of the Donaghue sisters in her novel, "The Parting Glass," a sequel to her bestselling book, "Whiskey Island," which began the chronicles of the lives of the Donaghue clan, the family who has been a part of Cleveland's large Irish community since days of the first immigrant's arrival.
The Parting Glass is an intensely emotional book about this family and their extended Irish roots. Richards takes the reader back to the 1920's where we learn about Liam Tierney and Glen Donaghue. This book at times brought tears to my eyes and laughter into my heart. Don't miss this book, but do read Whiskey Island first!

The Parting Glass is the sequel to Whiskey Island, and it takes place primarily in Ireland. I didn't think it quite measured up to Whiskey Island; but,if you read that, then you have to read this one. Some good discussion of Autism. The Irish cousin is a delight. Of course, all of the charaters are lovable. The title comes from a line in an Irish Tavern song. One family mystery is solved.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It tangles three different stories into one. I'm onto another Emilie Richards book next!

This is the sequel to Whiskey Island. The lives of the Donaghue sisters continues and the novel never loses the attention of the reader. The book was "simply great" and I could not put it down!
