A quick note: If you follow this series, Bill Gastner of Posadas County, New Mexico, you may be surprised to find that there is now a new first book in the series. This was written in 2013 as a "prequel," a book that takes place before the previous first book in the series (Heartshot). In this one, Bill hires the young, precocious deputy, Estelle Reyes, and she follows him around on her first day on the job and the few days following as they solve this case.
I really enjoyed this book. Maybe I'll eventually have time to come back and tell you why. For now, just know that it's a good one.
