Overall this was not a terrible book. I hated the characters, but I suppose when one feels any strong emotion towards the characters in a book, it is at least a book that has well developed characters. I picked it up because I heard David Sedaris say in an interview that he really liked it. I unfortunately cannot say I feel the same, but it is an interesting story, despite my annoyance with the characters.
