Ralph the mouse was terrified. All he had wanted to do was ride the little motorcycle someone had left on the table. Instead, both Ralph and the motorcycle had taken a terrivle fall -- right inot the bottom of the wastepaper basket. He was trapped, left to wait for whatever fate was in store for him.

But it turned out to be Ralph's lucky day. Alnog came Keith, the owner of the toy motorcycle, who was staying with his family in the hotel room where Ralph lived. Not only did Keith save Ralph's life, but he taught him how to ride the bike. And, when everyone was asleep, he turned Ralph loose in the hotel halls to enjoy the biking adventure of his life. But adventures can be both fun and trouble... as Ralph and Keith soon found out.

Beverly Cleary is an awesome writer for young readers - another great read.

One might have known that if Beverly Cleary were to invent a mouse, it would be a down-to-earth, boyish mouse with a proclivity for getting in scrapes. A good story!

The book was funny because of the mouse, it makes noises. It makes other adventure books look boring.

Ralph the mouse ventures out from behind the piney knothole in the wall of his hotel-room home, scrambles up the telephone wire to the end table, and climbs aboard the toy motorcycle left there by a young guest. His thrill ride does not last long. The ringing telephone startles Ralph, and he and the motorcycle take a terrible fall-right to the bottom of a metal wastebasket. Luckily, Keith, the owner of the motorcycle, returns to find his toy. Keith rescues Ralph and teaches him how to ride the bike. Thus begins a great friendship and many awesome adventures. Once a mouse can ride a motorcycle...almost anything can happen!

I read this book aloud to my 5 year old and 3 year old and we all loved it! Our plan was to read one chapter a day, but most days they begged me to keep going.

Ralph the mouse finds a motorcycle, learns to ride it with the help of its owner and goes on several adventures, with and without the motorcycle. This book is written so that a first grader can understand it. Beverly Cleary has done a great job on writing this book. Get it for your children or grandchildren who are interested in motorcycles. It will entertain then as well as teach them a litle bit about responsibility in the process.

Imagine a little mouse riding a toy motorcycle around in a hotel. It's real cute. My grandson had to do a book report in 3rd grade and this is the one we picked. Reading a chapter each evening was a great bonding time. What happened was he got anxious after each chapter to find out what adventure the mouse and the child Ralph would have next.
Written very well. Held the attention of a 8 year old. Recommend reading.
