SHE WOULD BEG, BORROW OR STEAL TO GET INTO ALMACK'S. Obtaining a voucher to Almack's was about as easy as obtaining an audience with the Queen. And the ladies in charge were about as merciful as dragons. But Miss Keating, whose heart quickened at the mere thought of attending, managed a bit of fancy footwork and maneuvered her way in. Once there, she found herself the unwitting victim of a curious scandal. She also discovered Lord Blayde in the process, which made the whole experience well worth her disgrace.
