Pretty good book- her next is better. She's definitely developing into a good romantic suspense author.

FBI Agent Trevor Rivette's current investigation leads him back to New Orleans, a place he would sooner forget than revisit. Someone is killing young teenage girls and he believes drinking their blood. He is determined to bring in this sadistic serial killer, if it is the last thing he does.

Rain Sommers is a late-night radio show host as well as a psychologist. Her show caters to the young teenagers and goth community. A caller who calls himself Dante keeps calling into her show live and his remarks make Rain shiver in fear. Rain's mother was a celebrated singer in the Goth community before Rain's father murdered her. Dante seems to be fixated on her, which in turn, leads his attention to Rain.

Trevor spends sometime re-acquainting himself with his siblings but tries to steer clear of his good for nothing father. He also has a hunch that the midnight caller, Dante, may be the killer he is hunting. When the killer flaunts his kills on Trevor's turf, the stakes raise. Even as Trevor and Rain find themselves spending more and more time together, the killer is planning his next move. But will Trevor be able to protect Rain from the psycho or will he die trying?

MIDNIGHT CALLER is a heart-thumping page turner with a chilling antagonist set in the darkest part of the French Quarter. Trevor and Rain are complex, yet engaging characters, and the plot twists and turns into a surprising yet satisfying conclusion. Ms. Tentler's debut novel plants her solidly in the romantic suspense genre with a defying bang. She is here to stay and I cannot wait to read what she has in store for us next!

FBI Agent Trevor Rivette has returned to his hometown of New Orleans, fast on the trail of a serial killer. Dante (AKA: The Vampire) has left a string of victims across the country. Trevor discovers that Dante is calling into a midnight talk show hosted by Psychologist Rain Sommers. Dante seems to be obsessed with Rain and may be targeting her as his next victim. Trevor plans to use that situation to his advantage.

Trevor had a lot of backstory that came to life when he returned home. I found him appealing and liked his relationship with his brother and sister. Rain was a bit too TSTL for me. Twice she slipped her protection detail to go out on her own. Doesn't she remember that there is a serial killer just waiting for a chance to take her out?

This is the first book in the Chasing Evil series. I believe this book was the author's debut novel. The setting in New Orleans seems to automatically give the story a dark, moody atmosphere. The fact that many of the victims are from the Goth community gives it an extra creepy factor. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
