I'm very sorry that it took me so long to read Mercy and I'm not even sure why I hesitated. I absolutely love Ms. Joseph's writing. Her voice in Mercy, and her other self published work, has an almost literary feel to it. Words flow seamlessly, allowing the reader to experience the story effortlessly.

And I think it would be correct to say that Mercy is an experience. Despite the lack of BDSM props, this is not a light tale of dominance and submission. It's detailed account of a deeply intimate and often harsh D/s relationship. It's not always pleasant, but the depth of emotion here is unparallelled. This story took me on such an emotional journey, I felt wrung out when it was over.

Matthew and Lucy are both flawed in their own way, and they make mistakes and hurt one another, sometimes deeply, but that's what makes this story so powerful. I grow tired of reading about perfect Doms and submissives over and over again. Mercy gives you something unique and touching, unlike anything else out there. I understand that this story is not for everyone, but I definitely felt like it was for me. It hit all of my buttons. I laughed and cried and squirmed as I turned the pages.

I will be reading this one again and again. It's become one of my very favorite BDSM romances, maybe even the favorite.

Wow. This book was amazing! I loved everything about it. What a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The writing was brilliant. Annabel Joseph makes you feel everything the characters felt. I got lost in the story and flew right through it. I didnt want it to end.
