This is not really much of a novel. I think Brady simply invented his character to help his retelling of the early days of the Korean War and the truth about Douglas MacArthur and his "Bataan Gang." The latter is pretty much the truth, as it is supported by many historians. There was a reason many of the soldiers called MacArthur "Dugout Doug."
