Really enjoyed the different kind of storyline that this book had, the curse was the woven into the story with background given at just the right amount to keep you reading but not so much to go overboard with it. The relationship with Neal and Thea's boys was wonderfully done is a time where other men's children didn't get love from the stepfather much. Thea did resort to the typical heroine in distress and I must sacrifice myself mode but was quickly righted-thank goodness! Not everything was resolved by the end giving way to the next book and that was very well done. A refreshing HR you must read!

An entertaining beginning to the Chattan Curse trilogy. This story was different from most other family curse plots in that our hero, despite initial attempts to circumvent the curse, willingly and wholeheartedly fell in love. Also, there was no breaking of the curse at the end of the story. Instead, the plot smoothly transitions into Harry's tale. I really liked all the characters here, especially Thea's young sons, and I found it refreshing to see a very eager and happy bonding between them and Neal. To my mind, the story moved along at a fine clip. The history behind the curse along with the signs of it at work were very interesting. Only on one occasion did I think Thea resorted to typical heroine-in-distress behavior, but luckily that sorted itself out rather quickly. It's a very good story, folks, and I enthusiastically rate it four stars.

I read the back of the cover and thought it was going to be a really dumb book but I'm glad I gave it a chance. You have to be prepared that you won't find a resolution in the end and the story continues in the next two books.

All the character were interesting and the plot moved along well. Other than the curse, Maxwell doesn't drag the book out with annoying plotlines. Most things resolved rather quickly.

Good read. Will definitely continue with the series.
