The description given for this book is incorrect.

Here is the correct version:

George Elkin, a solicitor, takes over his father's farm. He loves the rural life and has the support of lifetime friends and neighboring farmers, Prodge and Nell. Then Lily comes on the scene and the scenario changes.

When hoof and mouth disease comes to the district, the farms are threatened with ruin. George's life has changed drastically, but he learns to cope, while keeping his hopes up for the life he loved to return.

Prodge and Nell face difficult changes, also; and everyone's future is about to change. This is the story of a man who loves two very different women, and of a countryside attempting to cope against all the odds.
