Helpful Score: 1
This isn't a bad series, but I suggest reading the online version that it is based on. The online version is less censored, has more interesting and funnier plotlines, and is generally better. Go to http://www.funbrain.com/journal/Journal.html?ThisJournalDay=1&ThisPage=1 for it.

This series certainly was a popular book among third and fourth graders at my school last year, kids were always carrying the books around. Sometimes, I actually saw the kids reading them! (well, they were looking at the pictures, anyway).
My son adores the entire series. We enjoy reading it together and often find ourselves giggling together. The illustrations are funny and really reminds me of when I was in middle school. Jeff Kinney really captured the mind set of kids that age. We recommend this book.

I've gotten into the habit of getting audio books for my daughter to listen to while we are running errands; so I listened to the audio version of this book. This is a cute little book for kids from upper elementary grades to middle school. It's part of the Diary of a Whimpy kid series, but reads alone just fine. Kinney definitely had a talent for writing for kids. I loved it and give it 5 Boundless stars.
I asked my 10 year old daughter if she wanted to tell potential readers anything about the book; she liked it, and, being the comedian she is, she said we should say "It doesn't have any straws in it." So there you go.
