Scot Harvath saves the day (and the world) again. This thriller is not just a thriller, but some really interesting history as well. And what Brad Thor doesn't know about history, he makes up. (In full disclosure, he explains it all at the end of this book). This is a quick read. Not because it's simple, but because you wlll stay up late to find out what's going on. This series has been a fun ride since The Lions of Lucerne, and continues rolling right along.

But liked it and was a bit slow. The concept was OK but nothing like a James Patterson book. I actually expected better.

Brad Thor is one of the most exciting authors out there today, his books not only serve as edge of your seat entertainment but also educates you on real world problems from the perspective of those on the front lines fighting for our way of life. Trust me when I say once you pick up Brad Thor you'll want to read the whole set in one sitting. Enjoy

A great book. Fast pace and a real page turner. Involves some real history and of course fiction as well. Kind of like how Cussler does his books, some true history mixed in with a whole lot of Fiction. I plan on reading the whole series.

I am a follower of Brad Thor's books and have found his work to be well written and of great interest to me. Dare I say that this was not the case with this novel. It seemed to have been written about problems with the Muslim World, because it was a topic of the day. To me he seemed to feel that such a book would sell and and anything convoluted on the topic, would be adequate for the reader. First time I felt this way about one of his novels. Swap for my book and see what your opinion of it is?

The Last Patriot starts off with ex-CIA agent Scot Harvath and his girlfriend Tracy drinking coffee in a Parisian café when they notice something amiss. This leads them to saving a man that they do not know from a bombing becoming the prime suspects by the French police. This leads to a complicated plot dealing with the Koran, Mohammed, Thomas Jefferson, puzzles, espionage, murder, and documents that are found but maybe should remain lost. The person that holds these documents could change the history of the world and Islam beliefs. Are they real?

The Last Patriot was my first book by Brad Thor and I was so glad that my father gave it to me to read on the plane. I love when authors use actual history to create a fiction story because I am not good about just reading history but reading books like this make me want to learn more about the actual history situation that occurs. I say this because the author does take liberties with some of the history that he includes in this book but he acknowledges this at the end of the book.

I am giving this book a four star rating because I found some of the character development a little bit lacking. I was a little confused by the assassin changing his tune halfway through the book but understood on some level that people get worn down. I would highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read more of Thors books.
