ARC in exchange for honest review

Now this book would have been better to read first before the Cross brothersâs books. This should be the first of the series since this had the oldest Cross, Carter Cross when he was 16 and during the time his mother was fighting to live after 2 years battling cancer. Carter was/maybe is/ or not Sebastian âs only friend and like a kid brother to Sebastian. This might be classed as dark buts it's very mild to me. Took me a while to read this since it never once held my attention and I could myself re-reading sentences over and over to try and make sense of things. I just got done reading it and very few parts will stand out but not a whole lot.

Anyways this is Sebastian is broken,he lived with his grandma until her death and then lived his his mother that beat on him and calling him names, she loved her needles and dope more then blood, later he became the town's resident bad boy, enforcer for hire but he tried to keep his town safe from the gangs and their bosses but he always tried to keep the only girl he ever wanted and secretly loved safe and unawares. He met her as a child and he pushed himself to give in and kiss her 5 years ago at the end of their high school year, and ordered her to stop crying, he won't know why until later in this book. Until a list is produced and Bastian has a time limit to kill the people on the list, until he sees the last name on it and his easy life will become harder but he pleads for the safely of the last name. He gets an offer he couldn't refuse.

Chloe is a broken girl, her mother loved the booze more then Chloe. Then something happened and that made her love with her trucker uncle who hated people but he was a bit better then her mom. That was when her night time visitor would sneak in and check on her and he hasn't stopped since. Then her once in a while visitor kept coming around checking and demanding her follow his orders. Then the dreams, texts and then certain names coming up dead... connections... consequences .... coincidences or is she really going out of her mind... Crazy?
