When I was almost to end of book it had so far had nothing to do with killing Alex. Poor title choice, in my opinion. And it felt like 3/4's of the way through the story, Patterson decided he'd written enough pages so just hurried up and ended the major mystery in the book. He tied up most of the loose ends before finishing, but it just seemed rushed to me-- yep, poorly written as I've heard lots of reviewers say of Patterson's later attempts.

I enjoyed the book, as I have ALL of the Alex Cross books, but this one ranks somewhere in the middle of the pack of the series. Still well worth checking out.

Detective Alex Cross is one of the first on the scene of the biggest case he's ever been part of. The President's son and daughter have been abducted from their school. Alex does everything he can but is shunted to the fringes of the investigation.
A deadly contagion in the DC water supply threatens to cripple the capital, and Alex sees the looming shape of the most devastating attack the United States has ever experienced.
With each hour that passes, the chance of finding the children alive diminishes. In an emotional private meeting, the First Lady asks Alex to please save her kids. Even the highest security clearance doesn't get him any closer to the kidnapper - and Alex makes a desperate decision that goes against everything he believes. Kill Alex Cross is the most gripping Alex Cross novel James Patterson has ever written.

2 1/2 stars for this one, not one of his best and lacks something---like suspense?

The story line involving the kidnapped children of the President was just draggy with nothing much happening along that line, most of the book is about terrorist and of course names you can't pronounce, etc. which is irritating and terrorist stories just aren't interesting to me so I just skimmed most of this book and focused on the kidnapping but Patterson drug it out way too much.

It was one of Mr. Patterson's best reads. Enjoyed it very much.

Love the series, but the title had nothing to do with the storyline. Just seemed to be a a disappointment, but still looking forward to the rest of the series.

Good Alex Cross Book. Recommend. Not his best, but good. I thing James PAtterson has excellent writing skills, however, sometimes it appears that biiks are written too fast to get them on the market. James, slow down - one every two months is OK.

This book was really good as James Patterson's books usually are. I liked that the chapters were very short. I finished it in two days because it held my interest and I wanted to know the outcome.

The only real flaw I could see was the title. I found that to be a little bit misleading. Other than that, I enjoyed it very much.

Not the strongest Alex Cross book. Not the usual intrigue that's involved with Alex Cross. Almost feels like James Patterson allowed one of his co-writers take on the story for his best character. It's a fast read whose story ends 20 pages before the book did.

One of the better books in this series. Not sure what the miracle cure for aging was for Nana Mama, but aside from that, the family is as you would expect and the depth that each of the story lines goes into is more the usual. I wasn't left wanting to know more about any of the story lines.
