Elles sont bonnes en ce village, à cela près qu'on nous menace de quitter au premier ordre; elles sont mauvaises et pour le spirituel et pour le temporel aux Ilinois de Détroit autrement aux Peoarias c'est là que le Père Gravier a failli perdre la vie deux fois; et il n'est pas encore exempt de danger. Voici comment: Un certain Mantouchensa que les françois appellent la Tête d'Ours fut destiné par les chefs, comme un des plus considérable de sa nation, pour aller rendre compte à Mr. le Gouverneur de la mort d'un soldat que les Ilinois avaient tué nommé la Giroffé, suivant les ordres fulminants de Mr le Gouverneur il fut accompagné de quelques autres Ilinois et vint à Michilimak...« less
