I had high hopes for this novel. Unfortunately, I found it fairly boring and bland. The novel falls into the fatal path in that the entire book takes place over about a week, with the hero and heroine falling in love on around day 2. Sorry, not at all believable. Not to mention unrealistic. The heroine visits a man, alone, in his bedchamber on multiple occasions, she and her sister visit a bachelor residence alone and the hero and heroine are almost instantly on a first name basis.
Too cute! Funny and entertaining. I can count on Allain to fabricate outrageous situations and likeable characters that keep me in stitches throughout. She's a joy to read and is firmly on my auto-read list. 3.5 stars.
I had a smile on my face the entire time I read this book. Luckily it's not very long. The hero's father tells him he must marry a certain young lady. He decides to live in the area 'incognito' as he observes his intended. Then others have to tells lies to support his falsehood. The story becomes a true comedy of errors. And of course life would be so much easier is everyone just expressed their feelings. But it's not that simple and we wouldn't have this delightful story. I strongly suggest you read this book.
