I could not get into this book. Inadvertently, Karinna finally gets Rourke out of the painting, she faints several times, they go for walks, and many times he said he was going to or should have sucked her dry. (Drank all her blood.) BUT, at the same time he thinks how pretty she is, or sexy, and he realizes too, he can't kill her because he's been living in a painting for 300 years, and can't find his way around or fit in, in these modern times, so he needs to use her. Well, do you like her or are you going to kill her. Pick one. I didn't finish it, and I've read all her vampire books, and especially liked the last three.

Although I enjoy Amanda Ashley's books, this one was disappointing. The original story line was good - vampire trapped in painting by wizard father after seducing wizard's witch daughter (who was also trapped in another painting by her father). However, the storyline didn't evolve. It was as if the author didn't know where to go with the story after the first few chapters. It floundered and then abruptly ended.

Not one of Amanda Ashley's best. Hard to get into, in fact, I started the book and will admit to jumping to the end to make sure that it ended the way I figured it would, it did, so.....kinda disappointing.....

I really enjoyed this book. The story was differnt than usual, it held my interest and moved right along. I'd recommend it to those who love romance and paranormal stories.

Plain. That is the best word to describe this book, just plain, like vanilla. I picked it up because it had a different premise than any other vampire book I have read. But there was really no passion, just a slightly sweet story. When Jason was trapped in the painting, his lover, the daughter of a wizard, was trapped in her own painting. After Jason is freed, he finds and frees her as well, bringing her to Kari's home. Luisa still childlike after being trapped for 300 years in a painting, runs away and finds her own vampire to love. When the wizard finds them and traps Kari in a painting to punish Jason, he must turn Kari into a vampire to break the curse and free her from the painting. It was generally boring and if it hadn't been just different enough of a story, i would have never finished it. I don't think i will read anymore of this author.
