One of those books both men and women can enjoy. Detailed enough, not overwrought with minutia, a fast paced challenging plot. What more could you ask for a good read?

This book has 590 pages of actual story. A very good book that I couldn't put down.

Things change by the hour and some are just a tick off!
Two ex-Secret Service Agents become partners and are hired to defend a man's innocence in a burglary involving an aristocratic, dysfunctional family. A series of secrets, leads the partners right into the frantic hunt that even has the FBI baffled. Playing the hour game by uncovering one horrifying revelation after another, putting their lives in danger.

I really enjoy good suspenseful who done its and this is a must read.

Middle-of-the-road murder mystery centered on two private investigators, both former Secret Service agents. Of course, one is male and the other female, so there's a little bit of flirting going on. A convoluted plot about a serial killer that includes extramarital affairs, drug use, money and greed. There's a minor sub-plot about Civil War reenactments which I found to be interesting. Otherwise, a pretty predictable vacation read.

I like this series!!! King and Maxwell make a really good team. I usually super natural thrillers but I had remembered that I read "Saving Faith" a long time ago and really like it.

This is the second book and the series so we get to see King and Maxwell settle into their working relationship. They have been hired to investigate a burglary but then get lead to a series of murders that are some what copy cats.

I never was bored but at the same time, I thought there were a lot of characters to follow and maybe one or two too many murders. I WAS surprise to finally find out who the murderer was. I've already read "Simple Genius" and it was great!! What I've noticed so far is that Baldacci doesn't rehash past events word for word from the previous novel. He always manages to say just enough so we get the idea but no so little to where we don't have to read the books in succession.

Loved it. Can't read the of his books!!!

Happy Reading!!! =)

Typical Baldacci, good characters-twisting story, pulls you in to the finish

I have read many of Baldacci's books but I didn't finish this one. It started out fine, then he kept adding additional plots, discussions with several people about each plot (murders) to the point I could hardly follow who, what or where. It may all come together in the end but I totally lost interest and quit.
