Really good romance & mystery combined.

With two kids to raise and her ex-husband in jail, Barbara Strong moved to Dry Creek for a fresh start. She loved the town, but apparently her feelings weren't reciprocated. Didn't the folks in Dry Creek trust her?

Truth was, Sheriff Carl Wall had asked everyone to leave Barbara alone so she could heal. The sheriff had vowed to protect the pretty, vulnerable newcomer--from suitors and from any of her ex-husband's cronies who might try to contact her. Truly a DELIGHTFUL STORY--one of my favorite Dry Creek books!....Carl takes his protection of Barbara and her children very seriously. But is he doing it because of his job or his heart?

Sooo many funny and cute scenes mixed in with the mystery and romance. While a little clumsy in their efforts, Carl and Barbara are two down-home, likeable characters trying to fulfill their dreams. Thankfully, Mrs. Hargrove is there to steer them in the right direction. Sometimes love can use a little push.
