Another Danielle Steel. This story is a little bit too "standard romance" to really deserve five stars from me. Nothing new in the relationships between the characters in this story-except the baby. The pregnancy does create some entertaining moments in this book. So, I must say, nothing to rock your socks off here, but it is an entertaining tale. A nice book to read just before you go to bed. Your heart won't race and keep you awake and the story is cute enough to keep you from throwing the book down unfinished. And if you just happen to be an expectant mom or new mommy you might get a whole lot more from the book than I did.

If you are looking for a fun, thoughless read, anything Danielle Steel is the key! :) But really, I enjoyed this book a lot.

A Wonderful Story!!!
This is a very touching and moving story. Adrian Townsend is a wonderful character who will touch your heart. Bill Thigpen is a charater that you will love from the moment you meet him. He is kind, caring, loving, and a friend in every sense of the word. Your heart will go out to both of these characters. It is a very touching story. I strongly recommend Heartbeat!!!!

This is my first D.S. novel, and it is such a wonderful love story. Read this and you will fall in love with Bill and wish he was real. Adrian was a sweet characater, and I felt horrible for her in the beginning. Thank goodness for Bill being a midnight shopper, too.

A very simple and sweet, fast read.

If you ever get the chance to see the movie, it's just a little different but still brings the same points and storyline across. John Ritter is wonderful as Bill. The movie definitely made me love the book so much more.

Bill Thigpen, writer producer of the No.1 daytime TV drama was so busy watching his career soar that he never noticed his marriage collapse. Now, nine years later, living alone in Hollywood, even without his wife and kids, his life and success are still reasonably sweet. Top-of-the-chart ratings, good-natured casual affairs, and special vacations with his two young sons. His life is in perfect balance, he thinks.

Adrian Townshed thought she had everything: a job she liked as a TV production assistant and a handsome husband who was a rising star in his own field. In as enviable life they'd worked hard for -- the American Dream. Until she got pregnant. Suddenly all she had was chaos. And Steven's ultimatum. Him or the baby. The question was: did he mean it? He did.

Bill Thigpen and Adrian Townshed collided in a supermarket. And the very sight of her suddenly makes him want more in his life.... a woman he really loves, a real family again. But does he need the heartache of another man's baby, another wife? Neither does. But they couldn't help it.

Danielle Steel touches the HEARTBEAT of two wonderful people as their friendship deepens into love, as they meet the obstacles that life presents with humor, humanity, and courage.
