One of the best historical fiction books I've read in a very long time. Details the extraordinary partnership between First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and civil rights activist/educator Mary McLeod Methune. Their unlikely, and forbidden, friendship helped change the world in the effort for civil rights, education for women, and many other areas. Their deep and lasting friendship provided hope and solace to each other through very turbulent times.
