I absolutely LOVE the way Stephanie Laurens writes. She is so descriptive in her writing & I love her for it, and she continues her gift in this book. That said, I was just a very little bit disappointed in a part - just a part - of this story. The developing romance between the hero & heroine are beautifully written, and the reader just follows the flow. My only concern, after I finished the book & sighed, was that the villain's character was not developed. The book could have been so much more if the motivation or mental disturbance of the villain had been explained. Instead, the author just ties everything up in a neat little bow at the end. So that's my only gripe. Otherwise, a typical, lovely novel.

This book was much better than the previous few that I have read. There was a nice mystery and intrigue. There wasn't the tedious "Do I, don't I........" that has plagued the more recent books. I have skipped the last 1.5 books from lack of interest. This is back in form to some of her earlier books although the romance scenes were tame.
