"Fear of the dead has been a source of primitive religion" and cases from all over the world and in varying cultures are discussed. There are careful descriptions of funerary practices, with source citations. Volume three includes ghosts of the slain, suicides, spouses, the unburied dead, women dying in childbirth, etc.
