As expected, I loved this book. Erma Bombeck had a great way of looking at life and all it's trials and tribulations. This is a must read for anyone who has children. Just when you think you can't take another "Why do I have to do it?", you can laugh about it after reading this book. A good laugh out loud book. I wish Erma was still around to impart her hilarious wisdom on life. And I wish I had her attitude!

Brilliant, funny and timeless. The wisdom and wit of Irma Bombeck will surely live forever through this book! I could see my own family reflected in the descriptions of her family and that made this even more endearing!

Erma's terse wit and humorous insight shed new light on what 'family' means.
From enduring the 'family vacation' cross country in a car with kids ("Are we there yet?" is coming from the parents this time) to dealing with the leftovers that nobody wants to eat... Erma takes a look at the daily and yearly grind of living together as a family.
Written in 1987, Erma takes no prisoners in her funny dialogs on topics such as her son's college class choices (Is There Life after Lunch 101); energy and water budgeting (yes, twenty years ago, it was an issue!); physical fitness (how to fake jogging)Christmas wish lists based on the shopping channels... True confessions of the kids about grade school- and much more.
AT the least, this book will remind you of the simpler years and allow you to laugh at your own family history- and the best possibility is that it will re-open memories to be shared and (yes!) treasured from your family's experiences.

Very funny book. I never appreciated Bombeck before ( I thought she was before my time) but now that I've read her work, she left me in stitches. I could totally relate to her 'family" stories.
