This is a world where opposing societies strive for control. Troika represents the light while Myriad represents the dark. The young must choose one or the other, vowing to subdue or destroy the other. It is in this world that Tenley Lockwood and Killian Flynn fall in love. She is Troikan and he is Myriadan. Each must must strive to control the other binding that person to their side but their hearts disagree.

The story, told from both perspectives, begins where book two ended. The couple pledges their lives to each other hoping to bring peace between the groups but war breaks out. The pledging sets off dramatic actions for the couple as well. Tenley battles Myridan shadows trying to remove her light to dominate her beliefs and actions. Killian, however, has forgotten hier. With his memory of her gone, he tries to kill her because killing Troikans is what Myriadans must do. Somehow Tenley must bring Killian back. Is she strong enough to do so? Can love win the battle between the societies?

This summary leaves much of a complex tale to discover. Numerous characters are involved and conflict kills citizens on both sides. The plot involves many as the drama intensifies. It's a fine ending to a trilogy that is best enjoyed by beginning with book one.
