Reporter Mia Hale was found on a Jacksonville Beach, the number "8" carved into her stomach. Mia remembers nothing of her kidnapping and torture. FBI Agents believe she was taken by The Collector, a serial killer who takes souvenirs from his victims before killing them. Mia is the only woman who has escaped his clutches. Special Agent Eric Macfarlane has been searching for The Collector for three years. He asks Mia to undergo hypnosis in hopes she can recall where the killer was keeping her. More women have been taken and time is of the essence.
This is the third book in the Chasing Evil trilogy. The books are loosely connected so it really doesn't matter if you read this series in order. This was a fast-moving romantic suspense story. The killer is upset that Mia got away. He isn't about to let her go that easily. Eric must keep Mia safe while leading the investigation into the disappearance of other women in the Jacksonville area. I liked both the suspense and romance portions of this book. I thought it was the best of the series. My rating: 4 Stars.
