When I started this book I thought the writing was beautiful but I also didn't really feel a connection. Figured it would be a book I wasn't going to finish. I was wrong.
This is a book that starts out in the present time where we meet a professor and a stranger. Tales are told and a bond is established. Soon through this relationship, we go into the past. This is where the book sank its claws in me and wouldn't let go. It is a tale of shape-shifters that is both brutal and lovely. A tale of humans living around these creatures and one whose life will be forever changed.
Through this entire books, while we stayed in the past I was obsessed. When it would go back to the present, it was hard for me to pull through. All in all, I'm happy that I read it.
