The ending of this one really threw me - I loved the book, and of course, the series, but I was unsure about the future of the characters based on the ending. Wasn't a cliffhanger or intentionally, cruelly left to leave you hanging as a reader -- just eerie.

Ok, I liked this one overall the best of all of the series. I liked the different premise to the magic/talents, I liked the social implications of being able to "blend" with others, and the changes it would require in a person's outlook. The entire series is a strong social commentary on rigid class structure in a society versus democracy and a government that is truly, "of, by and for the people." I would DEFINITELY recommend reading the entire series, otherwise you will get lost. The first five would almost be better reading if they were published as one volume, some of them are really slow. OVerall, likable characters, good social message, stress of emotional health, self-honesty,self-development, and the benefits of overcoming cultural biases and emotional scars. I am glad I stuck it out and read the whole story.
