"Must reading" for stepparents, or people who are contemplating becoming stepparents. (I'm a step-grandma, and thought it provocative - my daughter, who is a step-mom, also got a lot out of it.)
Peter and Emma, refugees from failed first marriages, decided to create a new family, but their young daughters are not willing participants. Tensions and complexity grown steadily as Emma struggles with a difficult, challenging teenage stepdaughter whose sorrow from her parents' divorce manifests itself in behavior that escaltes from rebellious to dangerous.
