A quick read but well plotted with good characters.

Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest go hand in hand. I liked the way this mystery spun out. Also this is where Julie Tendler enters the story -- a character that helps round out Gideon Oliver.

This is a mystery with Gideon Oliver, anthropologist. Deep in the primeval rain forests of Washington State, the body of a brutally murdered man is discovered. And a chilling mystery unfolds.

I reall enjoye these mysteries and have read them all.

You will need a healthy suspension of disbelief to get through this one. I do like the anthropological aspects, and the setting is well described. The Bigfoot discussion is quite amusing. I've read later books in this series so it was nice to see how Julie was introduced.
But to my mind the ultimate solution to the crimes is about on par with Bigfoot's existence, and Oliver comes across as a irritating male chauvinist.
