In total the story is what we have come to expect from JP. By the end of the book I felt ripped off. Does he really need money that badly that he would do this to his fans?

Fantastic as usual! The prologue of the book almost killed me. Part 1 started 16 days earlier. The suspense of knowing what to expect gave me such anxiety, I almost had to stop reading! But couldn't!! Xanax helped!! LOL. of course, looking forward to next installment.

Very good as usual, except the end, a cliff hanger. The 'rest' of the story better be out soon!

This book was fantastic! The ending nearly killed me though. I absolutely cannot wait until the next cross book comes out!!

SPOILER ALERT

Really? The book ends without catching the bad guy? No resolution to the kidnapping so you are forced to buy the next book in the series (which Patterson politely lets you know in the afterword will be forthcoming).

OK, now that I'm settled down. The case Alex works with Bree and Sampson in DC has ties to Tampa and the southwest so they are able to identify this mass murderer as a serial killer also. It's a very good 'story' in the vein of a "Criminal Minds" episode about how the killer becomes a "monster".
I had almost written Patterson off, but this book renews my faith in the "Alex Cross" series.

By my count (not always an accurate one), these are his 14,152nd through 14,264th chapters he's published.

Book is very well written. My only complaint is it is continued in a second book.
