Well done with appropriate photos from the era discussed and including Blacks, Latinos, and Indians. She is informed by considerable research into diaries, letters, and now obscure books.
I bought the book for two bits on the library sale shelf, read some of it on the long bus/subway trip and know at least two other people read part of it at the old soldiers' home (we have few readers). With no takers, I pulled it after 8 weeks and sent it to fulfill the wish of a PBS comrade.
