A disappointing read -- dated in some aspects (the whole marijuana thing) -- and a lot of back and forth dialogue that rehashes the same things. Atmosphere of a snowy country manor was well presented, but I was glad it was a short book and glad when it was over.

From the back of the book:
Beguiled into wintry Essex to investigate the strange behavior of a cat, Nigel Strageways finds himself admidst a housepaaarty seething with secret fears and tensions. AAlmost immediaately, the cat loses the center stage to a corpse, an apparent suicide. But Nigel is suspicious, and soon off on the trail, only to have two children discover the grisly evidence right on home territory, when a great thaw takes its toll of their snowman.
