This was a good mix of mystery/fun writing and literary merit. The plot moved things along but the writing was worth reading too (sometimes with plot-heavy books, I find myself wishing it were a movie and I didn't have to slog through the prose). Overall, an enjoyable read.
Started out very promising, but then got bogged down in I don't know what-had to give up.
I picked this up based on title alone--At the time I felt surrounded by tall men whose intentions I suspected were not completely honorable!
It was a good book--I could see it as a Coen brothers movie--a bit odd and confusing, with lots of plot tangents that don't necessarily get wrapped up at the end, but overall a sastifing story that you can't really explain.
