i absolutely LOVE the green mile. especially in the serial novel format. it's a great story, well told. and even tho it's over, the contest at the back of each book makes a great writing exercise... just write an essay instead of 50 words or less.

I'm not a King fan, but this series was great! The Green Mile represents the last walk taken by condemned prisoners. Is John Coffey a vicious murder of children, or a gentle giant wrongfully accused? Set in 1932, this story of murder, mystery and miracles is told from the point of view of a prison guard.

I picked this edition up at B & N because I just couldn't bear to return the library copy with this last chapter unread. This is the best and deepest Stephen King I have read since the Shining!! It is sad, soulful and suspenseful! Really!
Consider me a prodigal King Reader after this reading, ready to give Stevie another chance!
