This is a really satisfying conclusion to a military space opera trilogy that combines humor and death. While there are dozens of characters, you even understand the reasons behind the personality quirks of the new ones.

The story is about plot and people and the author delivers a good yarn about a far-out space infantry unit with no room for bureaucrats or stupid orders. This time the soldier boys are working for themselves and their old masters as they deal with man's first encounter with intelligent life other than his own.

The only problem I have with this series is that I posted the first book in the trilogy and do not have it anymore.
