Who hasn't seen the first episode of Star Trek: Enterprise where the first Enterprise left the dock to begin it's journey ?
I was surprised at how close the book and the episode are. The characters are probably the truest to all the other Star trek books. They think like we do. The Vulcan's think humanity is premature and it was so enjoyable to dive into the thoughts of the crew during this era. Almost funny were the sarcastic thoughts Archer had but didn't dare to say out too loud.
It's a daring adventure the crew is up to.

This is an exceptional book! However, I am slightly biased because I love the tv show. Scott Bakula is my favorite actor and did a great job as Archer. Anyway, if you haven't gotten the DVD, get this first then everything will make sense. It has to be my favorite episode that was done into a book.
It offered great insight into the characters that the show didn't convey. Great read!
Enterprise was probably my favorite of the trek series - probably because it was the newest - i also liked the idea of going back and creating a beginning for what we already knew. Even though it blew up many facts we had already come to learn in previous series, i have come to peace with the newer vesion of the past. I read this book after seeing the episode and it followed the episode pretty well. It was a good story and was impressed with how the author was able to describe some pretty complex concepts as captured in the episode.
This is a great book and I like the fact that the characters are written well. The extra behind the scenes stuff is a nice addition.
A good start to the new series.
