A very complex and secretive man is the hero of this book. Personally I could see why people looked at him with fear. But, Carolyn stands up and is truly a woman of courage. A good tale to sit and read on a cold weekend.

Made me a fan of hers.

Morgan Blakely, Marquis of Clayton: With a soul as dark as his raven black hair, England's most notorious spy had finally discovered a means of revenge against the man who betrayed him on the battlefields of France. That 'means' was a lovely, blonde haired girl who just might pass as the long lost Lady Caroline, rightful heir to the Wilburton fortune.. if he could convince the cheeky rag doll to trust his risky scheme.
Caroline Monday: From the dank and gloomy Glynde orphanage, to serving as an attendant to a dotty old lady and an ever rhyming dwarf, Caroline had survived with her spirit intact. Now a stranger who hid his hurts behind a handsome, impassive face offered her not only the rainbow, but he pot of gold at the end of the it. Caroline didn't believe Morgan Blakely's claim that she was really a lost heiress. Yet suddenly she wanted a chance to become that lady with all her heart.. in order to find a way to win Morgan's for her own.
