Adrienne Kennaway (born 1945, New Zealand) is a children's illustrator and writer. As a child she grew up in Kenya, a background that informed her early work. Kennaway's successful career began with illustrating animal folk-tales by Mwenye Hadithi, portraying various African wildlife with vivid watercolour pictures - these included Crafty Chameleon, winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal (1987). Kennaway's later work has covered animal tales and natural history from across the world, as both illustrator and writer. She now resides in County Kerry, Ireland.
