Ok. A bestselling book gets published by a pastor called "90 Minutes in Heaven" and makes millions.

Then a little while later some unknown guy says he has a vision of hell and writes a book entitled "23 Minutes in Hell" and sells it and makes millions.

He didn't have a documented near death experience. He just says that one night Jesus came and "took him into hell." He has no way of verifying his story. No proof at all. Just his word.

His story is poorly written, and has no new or unique information, just the basic "its fire and it's awful" teachings that people all have heard again and again, but yet Christians flock to his book like sheep, and buy multiple copies to give their friends. This guy says he wants to save people from hell, but he sells his books, doesn't give a single one of them away, sets up a "ministry" website with nothing on it but and reviews of the book that say its great and a link to buy the book. Then he goes on speaking tours and gets paid to talk about his book, and sells copies of the book to more and more people.

All the while there is not one shred of proof or evidence that anything happened to him at all.

I think Weise is laughing all the way to the bank.

I read this book to see what all the fuss was about. Wrong thing to do. The set up was just wrong. Where is the background of this man to show what kind of person he was before he spent his "23 Minutes In Hell". He says he was a Christian which I don't doubt but I would have loved to read more about him and his wife before this happen. It jumps around way to much for me. A story should have a beginning, middle and end. Could not wait for this book to end. I wanted so badly for this to all make sense but I just could not.

Bill Wiese saw the searing flames of hell, felt total isolation, and experienced the putrid and rotting stench, deafening screams of agony, terrorizing demons, and finally, the strong hand of God lifting him out of the pit.

Good book. If you just want to read the "story", it'll take a day to read the book. If you want to research hell, there are so many footnotes and references you will be busy for a long time.

I think this book will mean differnet things to different people depending upon your walk with or withour God. Unlike 90 minutes in Heaven this author did not pass away for 23 minutes but was given a vision.

I really like this book. Sometimes we try not to think what it would be like, or if there is really a Hell. This book gives a very good detail of it in words. A little scary to for me. So it took awhile to get tru the first chapters.

I would recomend this book to read. Makes you want to think about your life. Are you on the right road? Read the book for more info.

Good visual for what Hell 'might be like'. Book is very interesting for the first half but kinda drags on in the last half.

this was a really good book because ultimately it pointed to scripture. it was very fast reading too. i am a slow reader and read it over the course of a few days but if i'd had more time on any of those days i could have read it in one. i believe hell is a real place. whether bill wiese actually went there and came back i don't know but God can do anything He wants so obviously it could have happened. but the bottom line for me is that the author always points back to scripture and that is where the real truth is.

I believe it's joke to most people, but scriptures are clear about some torment. Trust in Jesus now, excellent reading to wake us from our slumber.

Loved this book! In fact, I'm keeping my copy! Very easy to read, has TONS of scriptural references that you can highlight in your Bible. Made me think that is for sure!

I really liked this book. Hearing about life after death altered the way I want to spend my life before death. A must read for anyone who thinks this is all there is.

I couldn't even get through this book. I read a few chapters but had to put it down. I'm aware that no one can say it's true or not, but I find his claims to be very unbelievable.

Incredibly real was the writers explicit explaination of his experiences in the underworld. I would reccomend this book to anyone questioning or unsure about the hereafter.

This is a great book. It really opens your eye to the need to tell people about what hell is like and to warn them of it. We are going to read it as our Bible class in our homeschool co-op group so our teens can study and really think on this subject. This is a must read.

I dont believe that God allows us to come and go from Hell, as authors premise states -- either youre there or youre in Heaven after death, no back and forth allowed!!

In this day and age when absolute values are being superseded by relativistic values for each person by what they like and want, it is sobering to know that God still is God and wants us to know of spiritual realities. Hell is no longer discussed from the pulpit or in most of the mainline churches, but its reality is nevertheless undiminished.

Take the trip with Bill Weise and embrace the wake up call to what awaits us when we do not take seriously that which is given to us in the Creators handbook, the bible. It is an act of love to let ourselves and friends and neighbors know what awaits them for eternity if they do not develop that personal relationship necessary to have their name entered into the Book of Life.

Read, take seriously, and act upon the knowledge that is to be gained and understood from the message herein. The options of turning away from the message and the Sender are very sobering.

I had a difficult time putting this book down until I finished it. This book is very thought-provoking and a must read. Some reviews state that there is no proof of Weise experiencing an actual journey to Hell. My question is, how could there be proof of Weise's journey but there is no proof of the "out of body experiences" people have in other situations like being on the operating table and something going very wrong; aren't we, as readers or listeners, going on a person's word about traveling to Heaven. Christianity is a faith, and reading the Holy Bible proves there is a Heaven as well as a true and literal Hell. Why not take a chance and have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; you have nothing at all to lose and everything in the world (and Heaven) to gain.

I loved the book 23 Minutes in Hell as it got my attention and has made me want to strengthen my relationship with the Lord even more. As Weise stated, I have faith, too, that this book will be the closest to Hell I ever get.

excellent book! It is very powerful and if your walk with God is lacking fire, enthusiasm, or zeal, this book will bring it back to you and give you the encouragement you need to share the gospel of Christ no matter what!

I am generally one who has a hard time finishing books - I just get bored easily. With this one, I stayed up very late the night I started it because I had to finish! Someone commented that they couldn't make sense of the book. I doubt the author himself could make sense of it. I think that is part of the whole mystery and what make the book intriguing.

This book was a big disappointment. I didn't even finish reading it. It was more like a man hallucinating and telling a story. I am not saying that some of the things he might describe might not actually be what hell is like but so much of it seemed fabricated. Where I quit was when he was in the car and 'went back to hell'. Sorry I got the book.

Bill Wiese writes of a night while he was sleeping and was awoken to find himself thrown into Hell. He describes the horrors of what he saw as a way to encourage others to turn to Jesus and avoid spending their eternities in Hell. He describes his journey since that night, the turmoil his mind was in, the discussions he's had with others who've had similar experiences, and Biblical passages that talk of Hell & damnation. Interesting.

Bill Wiese is detailed in his account and believable. If it is true in any part, I am glad I listened. Either way it was very interesting and a listening experience I will never forget.

Well, this book was not what I expected it to be. I am not sure how I felt about reading this book. Disturbed doesn't even begin to describe it. I believe in a god who forgives hopefully not all acts of sin are Looked upon so harshly. It certainly makes you think a boy things...
