First, I would like to point out that Charles Rivers wrote this book in 2013. It has taken some time for authors to come out and state that Tracy and Hepburn used their "relationship" to cover for Hepburn's lesbian nature. It also helped cover much of Tracy's affairs with other stars. According to some of the authors I've read, Hepburn needed to nurture and care for Tracy in his declining years, but he was not the great love of her life. These statements contrast sharply with this story. Perhaps it is time to write an updated biography of these two stars. I would like to know the truth.

As to the two stars' biographies, I liked how the book alternated between the two. I noticed that most reviewers did not like this style. By weaving their individual stories until Hepburn and Tracy started acting together, readers got an idea of what they were doing simultaneously, though apart. I thought the explanation of Kate Hepburn's career through the lens of her elitist background was eye-opening. It gave me a different view of the times. I hope Charles Rivers rewrites this book with the input of newer info available today. Overall score = G+.
