The strongest part of this eBook is the extended explanation of the split between the Sunnis and Shias. I'd read about it before, but this book clarified things. Most Saudi Arabia and Egypt are Sunni, while Iran follows the Shia sect.
Another interesting point is the difference between the Islamic factions. The Catholic Church and Christians, the Orthodox Jews, and the other Jewish groups get along together, even though they believe different things. However, the Sunnis and Shia disdain each other, so their chance of getting together soon is nil.

- Muhammad's Beard,

This section was far less clear because many myths and contradictory stories are told. However, the footnotes are extensive, as are the Online Resources.
