You cannot keep a redneck down, or his gay, black, martial arts trained best friend. However, you can run them through the wringer, and challenge their relationship, and their moral resolve. This is another Hap Collins and Leonard Pine novel, but one that takes you a little deeper into these two should-be iconic Texas characters.
