Chase writes such endearing characters and the stand outs in this book are the two irrepressible Dowagers, who drink whiskey, ogle footmen and talk quite openly of their long list of lovers and adventures, they are hysterical.
There are no surprises Peregrine and Olive are destined to be together but getting there is complicated by Olivia's outrageous behavior and scandals which follow her around as she blithely wreaks havoc on poor staid Peregrines life. He knows Olivia is dangerous to his well ordered life, and the path he wants to travel, but is powerless to resist her. The sexual chemistry sizzles and I had a great time reading this.
