I was disappointed with how Charles Rivers Editors told this story to readers. Generally, Charles Editors presents cases concisely and that are well-researched. Unfortunately, this book was all over the place. Were these men convicted for being immigrants or for being socialists, or killing others?

I couldn't believe that two men died with such flimsy evidence. Moreover, the convictions didn't sit well with the population because the president of Harvard University was empowered to study the cases. This case says more about the fear and suspicion rampant in America in the 1920s than an honest study of the crime.
