When I started this book, I was very excited. I was hooked within a few pages. Sadly, it did not stay that way. Although the story idea was intriguing, the main characters likeable, and the setting interesting, it still had some hang ups that kept me from fully enjoying the book. The pace was very inconsistent for me. At times I couldn't put the book down but then it would lag so bad that I found myself going days without any interest to pick it up. There were also a lot of side characters that didn't get fleshed out enough for me. When they would appear in the book, I would have to stop and think "wait, who is this person?". That took away from the story too. Even though the book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, I don't think I'll continue to the next one.
